Celebrating athletic achievement that betters ourselves, our teammates and our community.
I hope everyone survived the arctic freeze last week. May will be here before you know it and then it will be time to reopen the Fairbanks Bike Shop. This is a great way to give back to the community, and get to know some of your teammates away from the race/event environment. Here's a very nicely done race report from Gary Shaw's latest epic Ultra-run. This is a little insight into what makes and motivates an ultra-runner- Outlaw 100
Attention "Active" Springfield Brewing Co Athletes! ("Active" is loosely defined as folks who are training (and racing when possible) in SBCA gear, posting on social media with SBCA gear/tags/@/, etc., frequenting the mothership and/or buying SBC beer where reasonably possible, etc., etc.). It's kind of hard to explain - but you probably know if you are.)
SBCA wants to help put on another team trip to Colorado this year from July 19th-July 25th. The last one was in 2018, and the lucky folks who went had an absolute blast.
There is nothing like cycling/hiking/running in Colorado, and we thought this might be an excellent opportunity to introduce more people to this incredible experience.
SBCA is willing to pay fifty percent towards the lodging expenses (up to a maximum of $1,250) to make the trip more affordable for folks.
Lodging will likely be a multi-bedroom lodge/cabin/house in the Dillon Reservoir area (Silverthorne, Frisco, Breckenridge). There is a great paved trail network in that area, and it is also reasonably close to other riding/hiking/running options. Many different routes can be done every day, plus several incredible hikes. Doing this will allow spouses and/or family members to come along as part of a family vacation. Riding/running would typically start early in the morning, leaving afternoons and evenings free for other family activities (hiking, rafting, etc.).
Please reach out to Stephanie Snow (stephs090386@gmail.com) if you are interested in this event (or if you have questions that will help you figure out if you can come), so we can gauge how many folks might be interested in this opportunity. The last time we did this, the house housed ten people, or so, we think. Isn't that about right, Fred?

This trip/opportunity is possible due to our amazing sponsors: SBC, State Bank of Southwest Missouri, Larson Law, ActiveLife Chiropractic, Leggitt Forensic ECONOMICS, and At Home Realty. Please try and support these fine folks when/if you ever can.
