Weekly Update 11/01/21

Celebrating athletic achievement that betters ourselves, our teammates, and our community.

The Tuesday Night Run with Victor is still going strong! They meet at Galloway Grill and run at 5:30p. Galloway Grill is at 4211 S. Lone Pine Ave., south of Sequiota Park. The group will run 6 miles, but any distance is OK. Run your own distance and speed. There will be plenty of people walking if you would rather walk.  The run goes north through the park to Pershing Elementary, turn around, and go back to Galloway Grill. OR Go south to the boat dock, pick up the Trail of Honor, and run back to the grill. Either way, you will get in 6 miles.

SBCA Annual Meeting - It's that time of year again we need to appoint (hopefully re-appoint where we can) able and willing volunteers to the leadership roles for 2022. So please come and join the discussion: Facebook live will be available for those of you who can not make it but want to.

Continuing items of importance:

2022 is SBC Athletics 10th anniversary season; incentives for membership. See the table below.

We want to hear your stories. How does racing shape your life? Your perspective on the race? Is there an experience that stands out? We'll read every response, but nothing will be shared without your permission. Shot Stephanie an email stephs090386@gmail.com

It has been a while since we offered PEDAL Industries SBC kit bags. No minimum order number is required.  The pro bag is the newest bag offered by PEDAL Industries. You can also get your name added to it for customization. There is also now a "changing poncho" that is offered on the website.

December 13th Fleet Feet Springfield extends a 10% discount on electronics and a 15% discount on in-store products to SBC Athletics. So be sure you mark your calendars.

Pirate Perry Events is now offering SBCA 10% off of their events. There are a few exceptions on a few events they don't direct or those races n but are posted on their website. The code is "SBCA 10off".  Link to Events

Look for the Classic Beer Mile on the regular. It will be coming up every 3rd Saturday of the month. Tell your beer-drinking/running friends. Also, look for new and better prizes! The information below is in "Upcoming."

Are you and a bunch of teammates headed to a big event? An Ultra, a big gravel race, triathlon, or volunteering for a trail workday? Wouldn't some SBC beer afterward be refreshing? Would you like to take along some SBC Brews to share? Contact Neil. He will hook you up.

Join SLACK. It is the best way to keep in touch with teammates and coordinate group activities.

SBC Bar tape is finally in and available again. If you ordered a set, you could pick it up at the front desk at SGB- $25 cash only.

If you would like a commemorative brick to celebrate an athletic milestone, get in touch with Neil. These are really cool and stand as a lasting reminder of your epic achievement.

We still struggle with getting results reported. But, if you'd finished something big, just crossed a milestone, meeting a goal, and especially if you podiumed, we all want to hear about it. You can email stephs090386@gmail.com. This helps to get the results reported on time.
